Hello friends!
Hello to my regular readers and welcome to you newbies! I'm Sarah and if I had to describe myself in 5 words it would be actress, awkward, cat lover, positive and Katy Perry obsessed. I created this blog about a year ago writing about everything positive and wellness related to share my journey with you all! It's been a little hectic here and there but I'm back to (hopefully) a regular writing schedule.
To get back into it I decided to share my top 6 tips to living a happy life I try my best to follow these and filter them into my daily routine to help keep myself grounded and happy and hope you find some inspiration from this too! :)
1. Listen to good tunes every morning!
It's so simple but so effective!!! I have a "feel good" playlist that I always add too when I hear a song that makes me smile and of course it's full of lots of Katy Perry. I listen to this playlist when I get ready or when I need a quick pick me up! Good tunes make everything better.
2. Keep a journal
Okay, so this one is not for everyone I must admit but I am a big fan and as someone who has a million thoughts a minute and suffer from mild anxiety this has helped me control that. I journal every night about the day, write down what I'm grateful for, ideas, compliments, troubles basically anything! Freehand journalling really helps get whats on your mind down and you feel so much better when your thoughts are down on paper rather than in your head! Also, it's an excuse to go stationery shopping and get a cute journal -mine currently says "make it happen" on the front!
3. Morning Mantra/Intention
This one I preach to the rooftops! I love to start my day off with an intention or mantra this could be as simple as "today will be a good day" or "you are doing great, keep going." I also use essences to help ground and balance myself (blog post about that coming soon). Once you have a morning intention you can then start setting intentions for the week, month, year! The possibilities are endless. Just make sure you truly believe what you are putting out into the universe and you may surprise yourself at what comes back. :)
4. Create a vision board
This is a fun one!! You are probably familiar with this, it's essentially a board filled with what inspires you, goals you want to achieve, things that make you happy etc. It's great to have one - I have mine in a place where I can see it when I wake up every morning and it's filled with photos of friends, family, positive quotes, and goals (shows/actors I want to work with one day) So, get up and create one - it's also super fun!
5. Surround yourself with people that make your heart happy
My last blog post (which you should read if you haven't) covers this in depth and it's pretty self explanatory. I'm a big fan of the idea that you reflect the people you surround yourself with. Find people that encourage you and make you happy! Keep them tight! Life is a little easier with those people around you! They got your back - they are your tribe!
6. Self care days
This one is so important. It's easy to forget this because life can be so busy but I always make sure when I have days off I make sure I put time aside for me. This could be in any form but as long as it's something that treats you - a treat yo self day. I love to use the day to write sketch ideas, journal and ground myself with a sneaky face mask and a feel good movie or netflix binge watch (currently Brooklyn Nine Nine) It doesn't even have to be a full day as long as it's even a night where you take some time out and pamper yourself. It's the perfect way to ground yourself and get back on track.
So, there you go lovelies!! Just a few tips that I put in my daily routine to keep me grounded and positive! Xxx
